Project Aims

The NCHT has been formed to investigate the viability of re-establishing a curling facility to cater for local residents in the area of Easter Ross/ SE Sutherland.

Dornoch Firth Area has been identified as an ideal loaction being the centre of the "travel to curl area". In addition the area is well placed to serve additional visitors in terms of quality accommodation and other leisure and retail opportunities.

By consultation and initial market research we have established there is an appetite among curlers and local service providers for such a facility.

We are also confident that if a facility is established the number of users including school pupils will quickly grow by employing a curling development officer and by providing coaching and "come and try" sessions. By targeted marketing and sponsorship it will be possible to attract significant numbers of visitors to the area for weekend residential competitions.
