New Hope Church - Thorney

One Family In Christ

Take the Next Step in Your Faith

Maybe you are thinking of attending a church service, and you have little to no experience of one.  On top of that it’s a change in your routine, and none of us like change.  And you’ll be meeting strangers!!!

Plus, a lot of new words with everybody else joining in at moments as if they know everything.

A church is like a family. Just as families exist in all shapes and sizes, so do churches.  Encountering a new group of people can feel intimidating.

Anxious?

“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now… Come further up, come further in!” - CS Lewis, The Last Battle

Don’t worry, we will look after you.

That doesn’t mean we are perfect, it means we try hard and acknowledge our sins to God, ourselves and each other.  We do this to create a better world for all.

When you visit us only do or say what makes you comfortable. We certainly don’t expect anything more.  If you want to talk about anything afterwards, during the refreshments, that’s fine as well.

Our normal Sunday services are very relaxed.  Our relationship with God is not about following rules and rituals.  It is more personal than that.

Nobody comes to faith knowing much, if anything. We grow in our understanding and in our relationship with God.  Nor do we arrive as perfect humans, we come with our sins, our hurts and our joys.  We come as we are. This is what God wants and rejoices in.  Honesty and clarity, who we are, not who we pretend to be.

Our relationship with God is a never-ending process. Sometimes we go backwards, sometimes sideways, sometimes forwards, sometimes falling into despair, sometimes soaring with joy.

At New Hope Church we live the faith.  Always growing.

We are a broad church that sets out to align our actions and thoughts with the teachings of Jesus Christ, focusing on loving God and others, and striving for spiritual growth.

Here is what you can do now - come to one of our church services.
